HOSTEL FACILITY IS AVAILABLE FOR BOTH BOYS & GIRLS AND IT IS NOT COMPULSORY

We strive to make the transition as smooth as possible by offering comfortable and safe hostels within the campus, providing a homely atmosphere. All the rooms have been designed to provide adequate moving space and ample air and light. Each hostel has mess providing hygienic and nutritious meals.

Rules and regulations for Hostel Residents

Students who wish to stay in the hostel should apply in the prescribed application form. The hostel rules are as follows:

1. Students should occupy the room allotted by the Warden/ Deputy Warden.

2. Students are responsible for cleanliness of their room.

3. Students should take care of their valuables kept in their rooms. The school authorities will not be responsible for any loss of cash / valuables.

4. Students are instructed not to keep Jewellery, Camera, Mobile Phone or any other costly items inside the hostel rooms. Usage of MOBILE / WALKMAN / CAMERA/OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS inside the hostel is strictly prohibited.

5. Students are not permitted to stay in the hostel during school working hours without the permission from the Warden/Deputy Warden.

6. Parents are requested to give photos of authorized visitors / local guardians who alone will be permitted to visit the students in the hostel, and to do other formalities in the absence of parents.

7. Students can entertain the visitors on holidays from 11.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.

8. Guests / Visitors / Local Guardians are not permitted to enter / stay in the hostels.

9. Day scholars are not allowed to visit the hostels on any account.

10. Students will be permitted to go home only if the school is declared holidays continuously for three days or more.

11. Students who wish to go home during working days due to sickness or unforeseen circumstances or important functions or ceremonies must get prior permission from the Deputy Warden with a request from the parents either in person or through letter. The presence of local guardian is necessary in the absence of the parents.

12. For Laundry, only dhobis authorized by the school should be utilized.

13. Students should not waste food, water and electric power.

14. Unauthorized electrical fittings and gadgets should not be used in the hostel rooms.

15. Students should strictly refrain from antisocial and undesirable activities such as
consumption of alcohol, tobacco, gambling, ragging, damaging school properties, failing
which appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated.

16. Students are instructed to adhere to the study timings, mess timings and telephone
timings.

Velammal lays a great deal of emphasis on ensuring the health, hygiene and nutrition requirements on its boarding students. Individual care is taken and according to the dietician ,nutritious and delicious food are available to their fullest satisfaction. It gives the high quality of organic food to stimulate the overall development.
